The short answer: skydiving gives you a longer, smoother and more scenic experience with an instructor in control, while bungee jumping delivers a shorter, sharper shock that you trigger yourself. A bungee jump compresses everything into moments. The freefall ends as soon as the cord begins to stretch, typically within a few seconds, followed by the rebounds and a lower back to the ground. Most people are done in well under an hour from arrival.

Safety systems: what backs you up

Every tandem rig at both Pattaya dropzones carries a main parachute, a reserve parachute and an automatic activation device (AAD). The AAD is a small computer that fires the reserve at a preset altitude if the pair is still falling too fast. Instructors are internationally certified, and the weather is assessed load by load: wind above limits, cloud between the aircraft and the landing area, or rain heavy enough to hurt at 200 km/h will hold a load until conditions clear. Bungee jumping relies on the cord, the harness and the operator's rigging checks. There is no reserve system by design, so the quality of the operator matters more than in tandem skydiving. Video and photos

Tandem skydiving in Pattaya has structured camera options. At Dropzone Thailand the Deluxe package uses a handcam on the instructor's wrist for close-up faces; at Thai Sky Adventures, Deluxe is outside-cameraman video. The VIP package uses a separate cameraman flying alongside for wide angles, with photos at Thai Sky Adventures. The VIP+ package at Thai Sky Adventures combines both angles in one edit, plus photos. Footage is edited and delivered the same day. Personal cameras such as GoPros are not allowed on tandem jumps because of the snag hazard. The minimum age is 12 with a guardian's consent and the weight limit is around 100 kg, with a small surcharge possible above 90 kg.
