This is the route most travellers take because Bangkok flights from Phuket are frequent. From Suvarnabhumi Airport, Pattaya is approximately 1.5 hours by road; from the city centre it is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Land in the afternoon, be in a Pattaya hotel by evening, jump the next morning.
Option 2: fly Phuket to U-Tapao
U-Tapao is the airport closest to Pattaya. Flights between Phuket and U-Tapao run on some schedules but not every day, so check your dates before relying on it. When it works, the road leg to Pattaya is short compared with the drive from Bangkok.
Option 3: a day trip from Phuket (not recommended)
On paper you could take an early flight, transfer straight to the dropzone and fly back in the evening. In practice we tell people not to. The day needs a flight, a road transfer, about 4 to 5 hours on site and a transfer back, and any weather hold breaks the chain. Loads are assessed one by one, and a cloudy start often clears by late morning; a day-tripper cannot wait for that. Plan an overnight in Pattaya and keep the following morning free as a backup.

Personal cameras are not allowed on tandem jumps because of the snag hazard, so Deluxe, VIP or VIP+ is the only way to bring the footage home. Combining Phuket and Pattaya in one trip
Most visitors fly into Bangkok anyway, so the cleanest plan places the skydive at the Bangkok end of the holiday. Two patterns work well.
- Jump first, beach second. Land in Bangkok, transfer to Pattaya the same day, jump the next morning, spend an extra night if the weather pushes you, then fly Bangkok to Phuket for the beach part of the trip.
- Beach first, jump last. Do Phuket first, fly to Bangkok or U-Tapao, jump in Pattaya, and fly home from Bangkok. This gives you a weather buffer before your international flight, which matters more than it sounds.
Either way, book 2 to 3 days ahead in normal weeks; same-day often works if you message early in the morning, but holidays and long weekends need about a week. The experience is identical at both dropzones. You arrive by hotel pickup, sign the paperwork and sit through a ground briefing of about 20 minutes. You are fitted with a jumpsuit, harness, goggles and altimeter; wear sporty clothes and lace-up sneakers.
The climb to 13,000 ft takes about 15 minutes. At the door, your instructor takes control and you exit together into about 60 seconds of freefall at roughly 200 km/h. Then the canopy opens and you have about two and a half minutes over the Gulf of Thailand before landing on the dropzone. On the camera packages, the edit is delivered the same day.

Weather on the Chonburi coast
Thailand has a dry, cool season from roughly November to February, a hot season from March to May and a rainy season from roughly May or June to October. Rainy-season showers are usually short afternoon bursts and mornings are often jumpable, so book the earliest slot. Three things stop a load: wind above limits, cloud between the aircraft and the landing area, and rain heavy enough to hurt at 200 km/h. Loads are assessed one by one, not day by day.
